NEWS: Hyori confirms title track and plans to come back in April

Already voted as the star with the most anticipated comeback here at allkpop, Lee Hyori’s upcoming return to the music stage will undoubtedly mark history in the K-pop industry. It now seems like the wait won’t be too long, and this time it’s for real!

We have recently reported on her complete status in regards to recording of the songs, and today, it’s been revealed that Lee Hyori has chosen her official title track. Currently, the production team is preparing for the music video and will begin shooting as soon as the concept is finalized. “The choreography and the style of the performance for the mystery title track have already been decided,” a representative revealed.

The actual date of her comeback has been altered constantly for the past several months, but it now seems like they have set it firm in April. This has been confirmed by Lee Hyori’s agency, however, reminded that the actual date may get slightly delayed if the ongoing progress gets hindered for any reason.

NEWS: Though girl groups currently reign the music world, female singers that are to return this month are garnering much attention.

Lee Hyori and BoA will both be releasing a new album in Korea this year. Lee Hyori is the best sexy icon, whereas BoA, who still has a really strong Korean fanbase, received recognition from Japanese and American fans.

The first to return is Hyori. When she released her third album back in 2008, people started referring to the "Hyori Effect." The fourth album has been continuously pushed back since last year, but we finally have a confirmed release period. Her company expressed that the album will be released in March.

BoA also plans to release a full album this year in Korea. This is her first album back from her five years' departure of the Korean music scene. Her company, SM, said, "We're preparing the album right now. For her return this year, we have been collecting songs from various composers."

Since releasing her fifth album and promoting "Girls on Top" back in 2005, she has been active in Japan and the United States. This year is also BoA's 10th year debut anniversary. Since BoA's first album was released on August 25 ten years ago, it is estimated that her album will drop sometime in August.

Representative female singers like Lee Hyori and BoA's returns may signal an end to the girl group and idol group reign of the Korean music scene. Their returns also give solo singers hope. A related source said, "It's the truth that solo singers were demoted because of girl groups and idol singers. Lee Hyori and BoA's returns will attract more attention to solo singers."

NEWS: Lee Hyori appeared as a guest on the Infinity Challenge special called Infinity Challenge Crime and Gil as a witness against Yoo Jae Suk.

The episode, which took place in a court settings, was about Gil suing Yoo Jae Suk for defamation of character. The whole issue started when Yoo Jae Suk revealed in an earlier episode that Gil peed on public property last summer.

Gil, Park Myung Soo and Jung Junha said, “This is clear defamation of character.” On the other hand, Yoo Jae Suk, Jung Hyun Don and Noh Hong Chul said, “We only revealed the truth. It’s actually a good thing if we build a character for someone in variety shows.”

Now, a trial is not complete without a line of witnesses. This trial included an impressive list of witnesses ranging from Lee Hyori, Gil’s stylist, PDs and more!

Lee Hyori, especially, heated up the court room with her fiery comments attacking Yoo Jae Suk. She said, “He is called the nation’s MC Yoo Jae Suk, but in real life, he doesn’t always speak the truth.”

Lee Hyori and Yoo Jae Suk have been in the entertainment business and known each other for nearly ten years, so she had lots of things to say about her buddy.

When Lee Hyori and Yoo Jae Suk won the Entertainment Award last year, on air, Yoo Jae Suk said, “The reason the program was successful was Lee Hyori.” However, in a phone call with a friend, Yoo Jae Suk said, “Well, I didn’t even receive the award alone…” in a very disappointed manner.

And that’s not it! She revealed that at the after party of MBC Entertainment Award last year, he said, “Winners and loser should sit separately.”

Yoo Jae Suk replied, “I was just joking,” however, the court room was already heated up with the rivalry between Lee Hyori and Yoo Jae Suk.

Lee Hyori did not stop there. She continued to say things only a best friend could say, like, “Honestly, I am tired of Yoo Jae Suk’s comedy. He’s been doing the same thing for ten years.”

Hurt by her betrayal, Yoo Jae Suk said, “But you continued to work with me in a program for one year and eight months because you had confidence in me. Didn’t you?” Lee Hyori replied calmly, “I only did it because I was signed up for it,” which made the entire court room burst out in laughter.
